Galaxy Surfactants makes tepid start, lists at 3% premium

Galaxy Surfactants made a quit debut on the Bombay Stock Exchange by listing at Rs 1,520, a 3 per cent premium against its initial public offer (IPO) price of Rs 1,480 per share. However, shares of company soon rallied as much as 13.83 per cent to touch an intra-day high of Rs 1684.75. The chemical manufacturer, which has raised Rs 937 crore from the initial public offer (IPO), opened 3 per cent higher at Rs 1,520 on the National Stock Exchange (NSE). During the day’s trade so far, scrip of the company touched an intra-day high and low of Rs 1684.75 and Rs 1520.00 on the Bombay Stock Exchange. A total of 10.97 lakh shares changed hands on the counter on BSE. “The equity shares of Galaxy Surfactants Ltd (Scrip Code: 540935) are listed and admitted to dealings on the Exchange in the list of 'B' Group Securities,” said the company in a filing to the Bombay Stock Exchange. Meanwhile, the broader benchmark BSE Sensex was trading at 34,562.42, up 479.71 points, or 1.41 per cent, at 13:55 hours.
